Good morning, Mr. Sunshine! This morning, on the way to the coffee maker, there was a pink glow throughout the interior of my home. I knew there had to be an incredible sunrise in the making. Sure enough, there it was.
Installed the nutplates on the F-742-L&R Aft Seat Floors A whole of bending over going on.
Now to make the F-741 Tunnel Cover The parts search is certainly getting easier. There just isn't that many parts left to dig through.
Placed the F-939 and F-940 Forward Seat Floors The instructions say to "Fit and drill the F-939 and F-940 Forward Seat Floors to the seat ribs". That's really funny, especially since there's nothing but nutplate holes, fitted over pre-installed nutplates in the ribs, in these 2 pieces. What's to drill?
Made the F-741 supports for the tunnel cover
Marked the holes for drilling in the F-741 cover Well, kind of. If you use the measurement on the drawing for the distance between the holes down the side, you will "overshoot" the runway. It's good thing I checked the angle supports against where the holes were "supposed" to be. You can see where the original marks for the holes in blue.
Making the bend in the top sheet of the F-741 I got out my brake that I used for the seat backs and made the small bend in the sheet. Harbour Freight special! Don't got one? Git one!
Time for drilling the top plate to the side supports This was a little tricky, bending over and trying make that %^&* plate line up for drilling. So I decided to mark the two most aft holes onto the lower supports with a fine point sharpie. Then I took everything apart and drilled these two holes on my drill press. Then it was just a matter of putting it all back together, clecoing the back two holes and drilling the rest of the holes, except for forward most 2 holes. Those need to drilled with the F-741 cover removed.
Drilled all the holes in the F-741 cover If I had drilled the 2 most forward holes, I would have messed up the forward floor panels. Best to do these holes separately.
Done! I put some screws into the forward 2 seat panels and then drilled the holes into right panel using the F-741 cover as a drill guide. Tomorrow I will install a nutplate on this seat panel.
