No biggy here. It's a nice break to work on a no brainer.

I am amazed at how pliable this fire wall metal is. You breath on it and it dents.

Thinking about when to install the firewall insetThinking about when to install the firewall inset
I can't find any mention of when to install the insert. So I decided to rivet the sides together. I put some RTV between the overlapping flanges. The only mention of the inset I found was that you need to install the rudder pedals first, so you can get to the center rudder support angle rivets.
Put the rudder pedals in placePut the rudder pedals in place
I removed the forward panel deck and temporarily put the rudder pedals in. Then I realized that I did not drill the holes in the gascolator bracket for the gascolator that goes on the forward side of the firewall. So, tomorrow I will pull the rudder pedals back and drill those holes.
