Finished the F-716B Seat Rib Access PlatesFinished the F-716B Seat Rib Access Plates
I'm going to go ahead put these guys on (just hand-tight) so I won't loose the parts.
Got the floor ribs readyGot the floor ribs ready
I bent all the flanges to a 90 degree angle to the webs. Then I fluted the long flange on each rib to straighten them out. I also used my unibit to make the electrical wiring hole in each rib.
Time for nutplates!Time for nutplates!
These nutplates go on a lot faster now. I used my ATS alligator hand squeezer to dimple both the rib flange and the nutplates.
Here's my hands free squeezer set up.Here's my hands free squeezer set up.
I fashioned this hand squeezer stand after the one that ATS sells. I got some of that green metal stuff that you put around your garden and made a hand squeezer stand of it. Then I went to Lowes (aircraft and lumber supply) and bought these huge metal bolt thingies to hold the hand squeezer in place. Works pretty good. The term "thingies" is a technical term for "I don't know what the hell this thing is called".
All the nutplates are on!All the nutplates are on!
Did you know..... that the bolt will strip before the nutplate will? So if you think you've stripped a nutplate, you probably haven't. Just get another screw or bolt. Don't ask me how I know that.
