Finished dimpling and sanding the inboard doubler plate
The doubler plate was the same thickness as the outboard wing skin, so I able to use my pop-rivet dimplers on it. The doubler plate goes between the inboard top skin and the wing ribs. The wings ribs are positioned just a few inches apart. This provides extra strength for the pilot and passenger to walk on the wing when entering and exiting the aircraft. Now it’s time to do the bottom skins.
