 I'm back from AirVenture 2009!
Wow, what a show! Over 570,000 people and over 20,000 aircraft landings. This is first time we've stayed for the whole week.

 Here's the RV we rented
This 25 foot RV is from El Monte RV. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by yours truly. We got a really good deal on this RV. No guess work, you know up front how much it will cost. Your only concern is going over your prepaid estimated number of miles driven. We went over our estimated miles by 60 miles, which was no big deal (or cost). That's probably because I missed an exit or two or six and had to backtrack. This RV had a pop-out, slept six, flat screen tv and a bunch of other goodies.

 Arrival at OSH
What's the first thing we see? A squadron of RVs flying in formation! Very cool. Maybe one of these days I be up there with them fellers.

 This bird is hot!
This RV was drawing quite a crowd in the sea of RVs parked behind the homebuilt section. Very nice paint job! The observer in this picture seem to have a tear in his eye from the overwhelming beauty of this bird (or maybe it's a nat).
UPDATE: 8/13/2009 - I found out that the owner of this beautiful bird is Dave Sloan - aka "Sloanie", from Boswell, Indiana.

 WhiteKnight Two was there!
This bird is impressive. The two sections are attached at the wing only. The announcer said that the aircraft was designed to allow both halves the ability to fly independently if the wing every breaks apart.

 Wow, the A380 at OSH!
This dude is huge! It performed slow flight at 100 knots directly overhead. My 4 seat Cessna could have flown past it at that speed. We got to tour this birds 2 floors. This model is apparently their test aircraft. The interior had a mockup of water filled tanks to represent each passenger and their seat. The sealing and wall panels were off so we could see all the wiring and insulation. My son hung around one of pilots as was invented into the cockpit! Lucky bugger.

 Here's the C-5 Military Transport
This bird was parked next to the A380 Airbus. It looked a sparrow sitting next to an eagle in comparison, yet still impressively large.

 My favorite spot, the Seaplane Base
This is the most beautiful place in Oshkosh. It's just makes you want to put up your hammick and take a nap. All sorts of amphibous aircraft floating gently on the water around you.

 Icon demo
While we were at the Seaplane Base, the new Icon amphib aircraft did some flyby photo opps and landed for all to see. My wife wants one. I'm going to need a bigger hangar!

 Oh yeah, I worked on the RV too...
Here, after un-clecoing (is that a word?) the top skins along the right side, I removed the F-787 rib and F-707B clip and sanded and primed them. Then I riveted the F-787 to the F-707B clip, but not to the F-707 bulkhead.
