Fluted the F-920 ArmrestsFluted the F-920 Armrests
The instructions say to "Fit and drill the F-920 armrests". The next sentence said "You may flute lightly between the holes in the armrest to make it match the holes in the fuselage side skin". Remembering my episode with the wing rib flanges, I decided to flute the armrest flange first and then "fit" them to the side skin. The armrests come warped and twisted because of the rounded edge that is bent over by the factory to make the outside flange. So I fluted the flange until the armrest lost it's twist and all the angles were at a perfect 90 degrees. Then I clecoed the armrest to the fuselage side skin and every predrilled hole matched perfectly!

I also drilled the #30 holes at the aft end of the armrest into the bulkhead.
Remember the plywood on top of the sawhorses?Remember the plywood on top of the sawhorses?
Not a good idea. It was obvious to me that putting the plywood under the center section for stability was going to prevent me from getting to the interior from "down under". So I removed the plywood and the spacers from the tops of the rear sawhorses so everything would sit level.
