Drilled initial locater holes in wing walk doubler sheet On each inboard end of each wing there are five ribs that are placed close together to provide strength for the pilot and passenger to walk on the wing when getting in and out of the cockpit. To provide even more additional strength, there is a sheet of aircraft aluminum that goes between the top wing skin and these five ribs which is 15 1/16 by 26 inches. This doubler sheet doesn’t come pre-drilled, so the top inboard wing skin is used as template to drill holes into the doubler sheet. I placed the doubler sheet underneath the top wing skin and set the forward edge of the doubler 9/16" aft of the forward edge of the skin. Using the skin as a guide, I drilled three holes for each rib in the wing-walk doubler sheet at 8th, 15th and 22nd hole from the forward edge. The rest of the holes will be drilled after both sheets are clecoed to the main spar/rib assembly on the wing jig.

I put both top wing skins on first, putting clecos in every 4th hole along the top row of holes. Then I slid the wing walk doubler sheet in under the inboard wing skin and clecoed it into place. Then I started clecoing both skins in place, putting a cleco into every other hole. Now for the final drilling of each hole.
