Stored the HS awayStored the HS away
For those of you who have a garage for a hangar, you will understand about the limited space available for storing anything. Especially with the attitudes that construction companies have today about building garages as small as possible. I missed the old days when garages were BIG. I have an eight foot ceiling and the walls are already jammed with stored stuff. The only way to go is UP. So I came with this idea. I went to Lowes (aircraft supply - arr arr) and bought 2 2x2''s and cut them in half. Then I covered with them some padded remnant carpet (only $2.50!). Then I drilled 1/4" holes in the ends and put in 1/4" eye bolts. Then I screwed in 1/4" eye bolts into the ceiling joists. Then I completed the hanging using plain old shag lamp chain, with one end having an open "S" link, allowing me to disconnect the 2x2 hanger easily. Then it was just a matter of sliding the Horizontal Stabilizer onto the suspended rack. The whole thing cost me $28 buckarinos.

This may give you an idea of what I did. The open "S" hook is at the top of the white chain, which hooks into the eye bolt in the ceiling joist. Later when I take everything down for assembly, all I will have left is the eye bolts in the ceiling.
