Built my own homemade weighted GoPro Hero pole mountBuilt my own homemade weighted GoPro Hero pole mount
I've been wanting to use my GoPro to shoot video around the airport and around my RV as I'm building it, but there doesn't seem to be any stable mounts on the market that keep the GoPro steady while moving around and filming. I recently tried using a piece of 3/4 inch PVC pipe alone, but it's just to squirrelly for filming. My wife says it makes her sea-sick watching my videos. So I built this puppy with a compartment in the base to hold 5-6 pound of fish weights. Now my GoPro videos are fairly stable.
Here's a video showing how I did it:Here's a video showing how I did it:
This video has a complete grocery list of the parts you'll need, plus step by step instructions showing how to put it together.
There's also some eye-candy at the end, trying out the new GoPro mount on Jimmy Dolittle's Stinson Reliant and Bob Roger's Mustang II.
