Getting the shop ready for the Tail-kit, which should arrive today!
Can't wait! We have a cell phone close by, waiting for the truck driver to call and say he's on his way! I think we're ready. The work bench set up and the tools sorted in the tool cabinet. We're going to build another work bench (the Official EAA workbench) to put in the middle of the shop.

Pop Riveting - Manual VS Pneumatic VS Cordless
There are over 12,500 Pop Rivets in the RV-12iS. That's a lot of rivets, especially if you're popping them by hand. Time for some specialized tools!
There are 2 boxes of LP4-3 Pop Rivets. One with 10,000 rivets, and the other with 2,500 rivets.

Compressors
Next time I build an Airplane.... well, now it's the next time. I told many of my friends that on the next build, I would switch from an Non-oiled Compressor to an Oiled Compressor. But, since I already have a Non-oiled compressor, I'll stick with it. From what I've heard, Oiled Compressors last longer that Non-oiled Compressors, and they're not as loud.
Here's a great article about the differences, plus some great tips on the care and feeding of each type:
